Realignment and market readiness of the SmartVue digital service

Herbert Kannegiesser GmbH is a leading international manufacturer of machines and systems for industrial laundry technology. With innovative solutions, a high degree of vertical integration, and digital expertise, the family‑owned company sets global standards in textile processing and process optimization.

Even in traditional mechanical and plant engineering, digital services are no longer optional – they have become a necessity for long‑established German manufacturers to remain competitive in the international arena.

Kannegiesser recognized this shift early on and strategically realigned its digital service SmartVue. The objective was to evolve the offering from a purely technological innovation into a clearly defined customer value proposition. SmartVue provides laundries with comprehensive transparency across their processes and equipment – from performance analysis to operational optimization.

Together with UNITY, the product strategy was sharpened, the product structure simplified and reorganized, and customer benefit consistently placed at the center. In parallel, Kannegiesser further developed its sales processes and organizational structures to successfully position the digital service in the market. This also included preparations for the upcoming trade fair as well as the introduction of new sales roles with a stronger focus on digital value‑added offerings.

By transitioning from an on‑premise architecture to the cloud, Kannegiesser is also establishing the technological foundation for scalability and future readiness – demonstrating that even traditional mechanical engineering can think digitally.
