Transformation to digital resilience

DEVK is one of Germany’s leading insurance companies. With approximately 7,500 employees in internal and external sales and over 4.2 million customers, it is a reliable and high-performing partner in all risk categories. 

DEVK is undergoing a comprehensive transformation to meet the increased legal requirements of the “Digital Operational Resilience Act“ (DORA) and thus strengthen digital operational resilience within the company in the long term. This transformation affects not only regulations, processes, and IT systems, but also organizational structures and collaboration models among DEVK employees.

Together with UNITY, a program has been successfully developed and implemented that integrates legal requirements and internal improvements. Key components of the program were 

• ensuring a DORA-compliant regulatory framework
• the structured identification of gaps in operationalization and
• the comprehensive coordination and management of measures and projects to implement the DORA requirements.

In addition, UNITY accompanied external DORA audits and also provided support in individual projects, including the establishment of IT governance, the initialization of ICT risk management, and empowerment and knowledge management. In the latter project, the foundation was laid for sustainably anchoring the transformation at DEVK by developing and implementing target group-oriented training and communication formats. 

As a result, DEVK benefits from compliance with regulatory requirements, the elimination of silos, and strengthened organizational and technological resilience.
