I am Frank Thielemann and a member of the UNITY Board of Directors. I already knew Tomas Pfänder and Christoph Plass, who founded UNITY, from my wing studies, which were followed by my doctorate at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute at the University of Paderborn. I joined UNITY back in 1998 - at a time when the company was still in the start-up phase. But even then, we were already carrying out exciting full-blooded digitization projects and gaining experience from which I am still benefiting today, more than 20 years later. It never gets boring in my day-to-day work: I've had the opportunity to help shape around 300 companies and a wide range of topics and get to know and support countless people in the process! I gain new experiences every day - a lifelong learning experience! I find it particularly motivating that we have been able to retain the start-up spirit of the past, even though we are now more than 380 UNITIES.
Despite the strong growth of UNITY and the challenging work, I am a total family man and always keep the weekend free for my wife and three children whenever possible. My dream is to take a trip around the world with the whole family when the children are older. I have already circumnavigated the Sella massif together with my children, the famous “Sellaronda”. I practiced some skiing in the Sauerland with the youngest beforehand. The Sellaronda with the kids was on a list of 100 cool things I absolutely want to do and experience in my life. Things that have already been ticked off include running a marathon (today I run 100 km every month), bungee jumping, swimming in the North Sea in winter, going on a trip around the world and traveling to the GDR - I did that in 1985. I'm looking forward to more exciting experiences - both at UNITY and in my free time.
