Platforms usually consist of many different building blocks, all of which can be classified into one or more of the cloud computing levels: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). The various building blocks and services must be selected according to need.
